Hello to the free world, any one who's ended up here by mistake and those of you who have actually made the effort to come and have a look! This is the sad story of a man who has suddenly realised that his not quite athletic body (and I know that's stretching the definition of the word just a little bit!) may not live up to the challenge put before it by one of his oldest friends! That is to cycle nearly 700 miles from Berlin to Stockholm !! For no good reason other than why not!
This is going to be a journey into the unknown for me! I am not a cyclist, haven't really ridden a bike in about 20 years, and never over any great distance!
Suddenly I'm about to embark on a cycling 'holiday', covering up to 50 miles a day! And I haven't really done any training. With two weeks to go I have finally borrowed a bike and gone on a couple of 17 mile rides, and I'm feeling OK. But bits of my body may not feel so good when I start doing ~50 miles in day. We'll have to wait and see.
this is all my old friend Ben's fault. He is a keen cyclist, and has cycled distances before.
So the fun begins!
