DAY 2: Lunchtime (eating again!)

Lunch is a traditional German dish called Roulade - which is flattened rolled up beef, with gamon, gherkins and some mustard. very nice.

The weather has been good so far this morning, but the wind is getting up and the skies going grey. There is a possiblity of rain this afternoon, although we`re hoping to miss it. We`re taking the scenic route through the forests this afternoon , so should be nice, and not far to go either !

We set off from the B&B this morning at 9.30 and it`s been a bit of a hilly stretch so far! But we`ve made very good progess, in fact traveling faster than yesterday, 27 miles in 2 hours 10. Fighting the wind a bit too. Been cycling mainly on main roads (A & B roads ), so lots of fun as the lorries thunder by!

German tarmac tastes funny by the way, as I fell off the bike to an audience whilst waiting in a queue at temporary traffic lights! Lost my balance and couldn't get my foot out of the pedal straps in time !! Just a lttle embarrassing , thankfully no photos of that!

(saw a dead badger - no good for you badger fans out there !!)

Comments:
oh poor neil i cant belive you fell of your bike..keep it up your doing brilliant xx

Don't worry, more injured pride than anything else ;-)

Tony, the badger was nice ! saw another stiff one today (badger that is). Might make a nice snack !!

According to my trip dooberry, another 950 calories yesterday, so I`m pigging out when I can !! And tarmac is very low on calories anyway !
